Inventory of Plant Genetic Resources
The genebank maintains documented inventories of plant genetic resources conserved both ex situ (seed collections and field collections) and in situ (on-farm and natural habitats). These inventories are regularly updated and documented in the genebank database to ensure proper management, conservation planning, and germplasm distribution.
The inventory lists include accession numbers, species names, origin, conservation type, storage location, and availability status.
These inventories are available for download in Excel format below:

International Databases
The Genebank contributes data to international plant genetic resources databases to support global conservation and research. You can access information on our accessions through the following platforms:
- ECPGR (European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources) – https://www.ecpgr.cgiar.org
- EURISCO (European Search Catalogue for Plant Genetic Resources) – https://eurisco.ecpgr.org
- GENESYS (Global Plant Genetic Resources Database) – https://www.genesys-pgr.org
These databases provide passport data, accession details, and conservation information for plant genetic resources worldwide.
Farmers’ Local Varieties Catalogue
Catalogue of Local Varieties (Landraces)
The Genebank, in collaboration with local farmers and rural communities, has prepared a catalogue of traditional local varieties (landraces) conserved on-farm. These varieties represent an important part of agricultural biodiversity and national heritage, as they are well adapted to local environmental conditions and traditional farming systems.
The catalogue includes information such as variety name, crop species, location, farmer or community maintaining the variety, and other relevant notes when available.
This catalogue supports the conservation of plant genetic resources through on-farm (in situ) conservation and promotes the preservation and use of local varieties.
The catalogue is available for download below.https://qrgj.ubt.edu.al/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/KATALOGU_VARIETETET-E-FERMERIT.pdf
