Ditë Fushore në Bazën Eksperimentale të IRGJB-së, UBT
Në Bazën Eksperimentale të Institutit të Resurseve Gjenetike të Bimëve (IRGJB), pranë Universitetit Bujqësor të Tiranës (UBT), u organizua një Ditë Fushore në bashkëpunim me Entin Shtetëror të Farave dhe Fidanëve (ESHFF).
Në aktivitet morën pjesë Drejtoresha e Drejtorisë së Politikave të Shëndetit të Bimëve, Farërave, Fidanëve dhe Plehrave në Ministrinë e Bujqësisë dhe Zhvillimit Rural, përfaqësues të Departamentit të Shkencave Agronomike të UBT-së, specialistë të institucioneve kërkimore, si dhe përfaqësues të sektorit privat që operojnë në fushën e bujqësisë.
Gjatë aktivitetit u prezantuan rezultatet e eksperimenteve kërkimore të IRGJB-së në fushën e rigjenerimit, vlerësimit dhe karakterizimit të resurseve gjenetike bimore, duke evidentuar rëndësinë e këtyre proceseve për ruajtjen dhe përdorimin e qëndrueshëm të biodiversitetit bujqësor.
Një pjesë e rëndësishme e Ditës Fushore iu kushtua prezantimit të rezultateve paraprake të testimit të dhjetë varieteteve të patates, të realizuar nga Enti Shtetëror i Farave dhe Fidanëve (ESHFF). Testimet synojnë identifikimin e varieteteve më të përshtatshme për kushtet agroekologjike të zonës së Tiranës, me potencial për kultivim komercial, përpunim industrial dhe konsum të freskët, si pjesë e procesit për regjistrimin e tyre në Katalogun Kombëtar të Varieteteve.
Aktiviteti shërbeu si një platformë e rëndësishme për shkëmbimin e njohurive dhe për forcimin e bashkëpunimit ndërinstitucional, duke kontribuar në zhvillimin e kërkimit shkencor dhe promovimin e inovacionit në sektorin bujqësor.
Peer Review Visit at CGN, Wageningen, the Netherlands
As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in plant genetic resource conservation, representatives of the Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (IRGJB) participated in a peer review visit at the Centre for Genetic Resources, the Netherlands (CGN) in Wageningen.
The visit brought together experts from CGN and the Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources – National Research Council (IBBR-CNR), Italy, providing a valuable platform to exchange experiences, share best practices, and strengthen international collaboration in the field of genebank management.
Peer review missions play a crucial role in promoting continuous improvement by evaluating operational procedures, encouraging knowledge exchange, and supporting the implementation of internationally recognized standards. These collaborative initiatives contribute to the development of a high-quality, reliable, and accessible European Collection of Plant Genetic Resources.
The visit further reinforced the importance of international partnerships in safeguarding agricultural biodiversity and advancing the long-term conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for future generations.
International Scientific Visit to the Genebank Field Collections
As part of the 16th CASEE Conference, hosted by the Agricultural University of Tirana, a research delegation from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest (USAMV Bucharest) visited the Genebank’s field collections and experimental site in Valias.
The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Florin Stănică, President of the Association of Life Sciences Universities in Central and Eastern Europe (CASEE) and President of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences (ASAS).
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the Genebank’s activities in the conservation and management of plant genetic resources while fostering scientific dialogue and strengthening international collaboration.
Discussions focused on current challenges and future opportunities in agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and the sustainable use of plant genetic resources, reinforcing the importance of regional partnerships in advancing research and innovation.
The visit concluded with a shared commitment to promoting scientific cooperation and developing future collaborative initiatives in the field of agricultural research and genetic resource conservation.
Farat autoktone në fokus
Gjatë Panairit të Bujqësisë në Lushnje, në panelin e organizuar nga GIZ Albania, Drejtoresha e Institutit të Resurseve Gjenetike të Bimëve (IRGJB-UBT), Prof. Asoc. Valbona Hobdari, theksoi rëndësinë e ruajtjes, karakterizimit dhe promovimit të farave autoktone si një pasuri e çmuar kombëtare dhe një element kyç për zhvillimin e një bujqësie të qëndrueshme.
Në fjalën e saj, Prof. Hobdari nënvizoi se farat autoktone përfaqësojnë një trashëgimi të vyer gjenetike, të krijuar dhe ruajtur ndër breza, e cila luan një rol të rëndësishëm në ruajtjen e biodiversitetit bujqësor, rritjen e qëndrueshmërisë ndaj ndryshimeve klimatike dhe garantimin e sigurisë ushqimore.
Pjesëmarrja në këtë panel shërbeu si një mundësi e rëndësishme për të promovuar misionin e IRGJB-UBT në konservimin dhe përdorimin e qëndrueshëm të burimeve gjenetike bimore, si dhe për të forcuar bashkëpunimin me institucionet dhe partnerët që kontribuojnë në zhvillimin e sektorit bujqësor në Shqipëri.

It was a pleasure to welcome international reviewers from CGN (The Netherlands) and IBBR-CNR (Italy) to our Gene Bank for a peer review visit.
Over two intensive days, the visit provided an excellent opportunity for productive discussions, technical exchange, and the sharing of expertise in plant genetic resource conservation.
The peer review focused on strengthening collaboration, exchanging best practices, and reinforcing our shared commitment to safeguarding plant genetic resources for future generations.
The visit concluded successfully, leaving both institutions with valuable insights and stronger international partnerships that will support future cooperation and continuous improvement of Gene Bank activities.
